GAMBIA WILDLIFE & HERITAGE TOUR – 10 DAYS
COMFORT LEVEL: STANDARD | ACTIVITY LEVEL: MODERATE

This 10-day journey takes you across The Gambia – from its vibrant coastal region to the peaceful inland around Georgetown. Accompanied by a local guide, you’ll explore the rich blend of nature, culture, and history that makes this small West African country so unique.

We begin at the Atlantic coast, where you'll visit the colourful Tanji fishing market and witness daily life along the shoreline. In Banjul, you’ll explore the National Monument and the historic Kachikally Crocodile Pool. The bustling market of Serekunda offers a true glimpse into local trade and energy. A peaceful boat trip through the Lamin mangroves invites you to slow down and enjoy the serenity of nature.

As we move inland, we cross the Gambia River via a local ferry. Along the way, you’ll visit the moving Kunta Kinteh Island, the mysterious stone circles of Wassu, and a small village school – a touching encounter with Gambia’s future generation. In the eastern part of the country, a river safari to the Baboon Islands offers the chance to see wild hippos and chimpanzees. You’ll enjoy walks through tropical nature reserves like Abuko, and discover hidden gems far off the tourist trail.

The tour ends with a relaxing overnight stay by the beach, where you can watch the sun rise over the ocean.

This journey is ideal for travellers who want to experience The Gambia in all its facets: from nature and culture to history and meaningful encounters. A warm, honest and complete experience – with attention to detail and space for wonder.
